Securing The Manhole Covers On
Gate Valve Wells On Water Systems
The security of gate valve wells on public water systems can be improved
significantly with the Lift & Lock manhole cover. The Lift & Lock manhole is beneficial in four ways:
1. Each existing manhole cover can be machined to include the lock bolts.
It is not necessary to disrupt the pavement or ground surface, remove the
manhole frame, and restore the site. The high restoration costs are avoided.
2. You can choose any one of three types of lock bolts depending on the level
of security desired: standard bolts, pentagon-shaped head bolts, or special
key-lock bolts with registered or exclusive configuration. The bolts can
be changed if the desired level of security changes.
3. The bolts do not need to be removed, only loosened. The bolts will not
get lost, misplaced, or fall in the manhole.
4. You do not need to wrestle with the cover to line up the holes in the
cover with the holes in the frame. You will save time and frustration as
well as avoid stripping the threads due to slight misalignments of holes.
